公共衛生透過社會集體力量，以預防疾病、延長壽命及促進人口健康為工作目標。政府政策的介入，乃是展現社會集體性力量的重要機制。公衛議題面向多元，但均牽涉政策制訂、行政運作、組織管理等知識。也因為如此，對於公共行政學與管理學的基本認識，乃是公衛領域不可或缺的核心知識。本課程介紹行政學與管理學基本概念，並將介紹行政與管理原理原則在公衛實務議題上的應用。
Public health aims to prevent disease, prolong life and promote health through collective social actions. The administration of government policies is considered one the most important mechanisms of collective social actions to achieve public health goals. While the spectrum of public health actions covers many issues, all public health actions involve policy development, public administration, and organization management. Therefore, basic knowledge about public health administration and management is essential for public health students. This course introduces the principles of public administration and management and discusses how these principles are applied in real-life public health practices.
